Iraq body count running at double pace

Iraq body count running at double pace - Yahoo News Article by Stephen R. Hurst, AP

So I figure for my first post, I will get straight to the Iraq War.

Soon we will be told by the Bush Administration something along the lines that there are military successes in Baghdad. Even though the Iraqi government hasn't met any of its responsibilities. They will probably say that the surge is just now succeeding and we need to give the Iraqis a chance now that they have the security they needed.

When this happens, remember the article above. It seems that even though violence is down in Baghdad, it has DOUBLED thoughout Iraq as a whole. In other words, the surge is not solving the violence, just moving it.

Another interesting statistic, the Red Crescent, the number of displaced Iraqis is more than doubled also. Gee, I wonder why there are so many insurgents. Probably people desperate to feed their families.

Once again, the military solution is proven to be incapable of solving the problem by itself. We cannot control the political solution, ultimately. It is time to start moving out. Even Republicans are saying so, now if they would vote for the same things they say...
